Yoga is not as active as a Bodypump or Zumba class, but it still requires a wide range of muscle groups to balance, stretch and bend. It also demands a high level of concentration to reap the benefits.
Vinyasa classes tend to move at a faster pace and combine postures into fluid flows. However, there is a slow flow option for those who are newer to the practice.
Flow 1
Flow yoga is designed to give you an energy boost, increase lean muscle mass and strengthen your body while improving flexibility and calming the mind. Classes combine athletic movement and strength training with a series of balanced yoga poses, all in a heated studio.
Often called “Vinyasa Flow” this practice is informed by Ashtanga yoga and is characterized by fluid, creative sequencing of poses that link breath with movement in an intense workout. The class ends with a deeply relaxing guided meditation.
Designed to offer a gentle yoga experience, suitable for all ages and abilities. Chair flows and postures that incorporate a chair are offered to those with limited mobility or who prefer not to stand for long periods of time.
Be Studio
BE studio is a form of peer review in which the student formally presents their work to the class and instructor, restates the problem, outlines the issues being addressed to solve the problem and then describes how they arrived at a tentative solution. Then the instructor and class offer critique — both specific and general — of the work. Attending classes in a studio can be a great way to stay accountable. When you have to book a class ahead of time and prepay, it’s harder to skip or cancel. You also get a full workout because the instructors provide layered progressions that challenge beginners and experts alike.
Y6 Mobility
Y6 is an excellent acceptor because it features an electron deficient core based on benzothiadiazole (BT) units which promotes molecular packing and charge carrier mobility. Moreover, the BT group exhibits good electron-withdrawing capability to minimize radiative recombination, which is the main source of voltage loss in NFA solar cells.
Y6 also displays a broad absorption spectrum across the visible and near infrared regions, enabling efficient utilization of solar energy. Furthermore, Y6 has high charge carrier mobility, which improves hole transport and overall device performance.
Y6 Hot
This yoga class is a little more challenging than the Restore or Slow Flow classes, but still beginner friendly. These classes are held in a warm or hot room and will increase the intensity of your workout.
The Y6 Signature set sequence combines yoga postures synched with the breath, fun and challenging balancing series, and dynamic core work designed to add energizing fire to your life in a heated or warmed practice room. You’ll leave feeling perfectly balanced from bottom to top.
The studio is small and feels like a community, and people often hang out after class. You’ll probably sweat, so wear comfortable clothing that you can move in.
Y6 Restorative
Yoga is a mind-body practice that has many benefits, including increased flexibility, weight loss, better sleep and improved mood. Yoga is also a great workout for all ages and body types. It can be a low to moderate intensity workout.
The YogaSix franchise was known for modernizing yoga classes with ambient lighting, upbeat music and temperature variations (heated and non-heated). Its addition of Y6 Sculpt & Flow and later Y6 TRX was an effort to tap into strength training’s surging popularity and help members complete their fitness journey.
Classes are taught by certified teachers. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to sweat. It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes prior to class for guest registration.
Y6 Yoga for Anxiety
Yoga is an excellent way to reduce anxiety and relax. It can also help improve heart health, as it promotes flexibility and increases circulation. The breathing exercises and relaxation techniques in yoga can also improve sleep quality, which is essential for good health.
A recent study found that yoga improved symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder, a condition marked by persistent nervousness and worry. The participants were randomly assigned to receive CBT, Kundalini yoga, or a control technique consisting of stress management education.
The physical postures and slow, deep breathing of yoga are beneficial for reducing anxiety symptoms by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which counteracts the body’s fight or flight response. Yoga can also teach kids to notice their emotions in a nonjudgmental manner, empowering them to cope with anxiety-inducing situations more effectively.
